Last two weeks I've been in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) for 2.5 days and Singapore for 4 days including the weekend. Because of the limited time in Kuala Lumpur, the only site-seeing I could do was a visit to the Petronas Towers. The 88-floor Petronas Towers were the tallest buildings in the world for six years, until Taipei 101 was completed in 2004.

In Singapore I visited the Gardens by the Bay. Inspired by Madurodam, Gardens by the Bay featured Tulipmania, a KLM sponsored Tulip event where Tiffy (Nijntje) plays a prominent role. Gardens by the Bay comprise two cooled conservatories – the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. The construction of the glasshouses is special and aims strongly at minimizing the environmental footprint. Rainwater is collected from the surface and circulated in the cooling system, which is connected to the Supertrees. The Supertrees are used both to vent hot air and to cool circulated water.

Both Saturday and Sunday I've made lot of pictures and I've added a selection to this website. If you are interested, I've created a new event in Events and I've added pictures to the albums Flowers and Cities.  Of course also some pictures were added to Favorites 2014. Enjoy!
